This is a question that I am asked by some of my clients – “When is the right time to consider having my portrait created?” or “When is the right time to have our family portrait taken?”
Of course, there are many answers to these questions and each answer is only right for that individual, but that being said, the answer I would give to those questions is simply, “always; everyday.” There is not a bad day to do a portrait. A portrait is artwork, time and light captured at that moment with you, your family, your baby as the center of that art. What could be more precious? I guess I might be old enough now to realize that each day is indeed a treasure and so we need to quit waiting for things, for when that time is right, and do it now.
I started my Legacy Portraits series because I was learning that people were waiting too long. Time was gone, that loved one was gone, and the memories were only in the mind. As an artist with a lifelong goal to capture the human spirit, that breaks my heart; so this is a way for the person who wants to take the steps for it to happen can make it happen.
